The conversion of these buildings to condominiums was completed in 2005 (ish) and this complex has become a beautiful, family friendly neighborhood.

It was originally Mandel Brothers, then Wieboldt's (1960-1987). It was never a Goldblatt's.

FDS. Abandoned site at the north end of the SRA/north shore of the lake, where S. Wolf lake Blvd. becomes S. State Line Rd. Roads in very poor condition, main access road overgrown by vegetation. Buildings have been razed but foundations remain; double-Nike-Ajax magazines badly cracked with wild vegetation overgrowing. 41°40′34″N 087°31′40″W

I'd love to know more about your history with the Arrigo's, in particular Adeline. I knew Adeline at the end of her life, and had the privilege of assisting her through her last days. I'm so grateful for having the time with her that I did. Oddly enough, today is the anniversary of her death, in 1993. I still miss this dear and marvelous lady today. My friendship with her was truly a gift. -----Glen Lusby

One lap around is actually exactly a 1/4 mile. When resurfaced, the track was never adjusted to 400M. As a result, the starting lines for metric events like the 1600 and 4x100 are adjusted and not at the common start/finish.
