  • Jewish Graceland Cemetery, bellablackwell9 (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
Many think that the entire cemetery is refered to as 'Jewish Graceland Cemetery' but this is not true. Only the south cemetery became Jewish Graceland Cemetery (named for the corporation owning it).In the early 1990's, the north cemetery also became known as Jewish Graceland Cemetery when it was purchased by that same corporation owning the south. The center two cemeteries are NOT Jewish Graceland Cemetery. These sections are owned by Hebrew Beneavolent Society, and is in no way connected to Jewish Graceland Cemetery Corporation. As of April 2007,Jewish Graceland Cemetery is now under new ownership and management and they have put a lot of work into restoring the old cemetery.

State Place extends north to E 11th Street. This aerial (12/11/2007) doesn't reflect the construction of the State Place tower.

Actually, Mies was right about the address, but the location is 2 blocks north of here, inbetween 32nd and 33rd, so I was right about the fact that someone wrongly identified the exact building this restaurant is located in.
  • Healthy Food Restaurant, Al (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
The address is 3436 S. Halsted, NOT 3236. But you have the right location where this place is located.

i grew up on touhy ave. it was great. then, we had hippies. i remember once, the national guard marching down our street when dr. martin luther king got shot, killed. nothing happened and my brother and i went out to play. we felt safe there growing up. the beach was our lifestyle, still is. remember, what goes around comes around so says JT. the area will be great again. bohemian can be fun if you have an open mind. just take care, it's not so open that things fall out.
