  • AT&T Canal Central Office, BellHead (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
One of the strangest buildings in the loop. 10 S Canal. Built with design criteria created in the 50's and 60's to withstand a nearby nuclear attack. Look at the walls, the blast doors, the thickness of the doors, the total lack of windows up to the 21st floor. Of course, that day and age- the technology also had us ringing our major cities with Nike Missile bases, surface to air missiles... so we could shoot Ivan down on his way to bomb the city from mother Russia. These bases were in such distant lands as Palatine, Northbrook and Vernon Hills.

Also to mitigate the severity and duration of the common cold, swallow a bit of raw garlic without chewing + comsume chicken soup in copious amounts. Once cured you may consume scones and muffins as before.

  • Johann Goethe Monument, jeff (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
The sculptor did the diservice of giving Goethe an open lioncloth, but not modeling genetalia, an unfortunate substitute for the modesty that clothes would have imparted, or the dignity that male organs would have conferred.
